i Collection AW12

I'm back after a longgggg hiatus to bring you this post.

Recently I've started a new blog, which I use as a microblog/longer version of twitter where I jot down my thoughts and store all my polaroid pics so I won't have to keep them on my phone.

Originally the plan was that I would write into it for a while, and once I think it is reasonably sustained then I'll tell you guys about it. But since the start of this year my life has been so packed full of uni work and internship hunting mania, naturally most of my posts on the new blog are way too personal and diary like, which right now I want to just keep to myself as a side project. I've decided that I still like posting long posts (which frankly probably no one reads) on this blog so that my readers get a better insight into the things I'm into and don't have to feel weirded out by my massive hormonal mood swings.

I do realise I need to finish off my Japan photo diaries (which after 2 years if still no where near complete!), which I will definitely once I sort my life out with this term's work. But today, I'll treat you guys with this amazing Japanese brand I discovered a week ago.

IKUMI is a Japanese model (runway+gyaru mag), photographer, artist, illustrator, traveller, blogger and more recently a fashion designer.  Who also happens to have the hottest boyfriend in the world of modelling AND happens to look like a blonde mythical goddess.

I was so impressed by the simplicity of her concept behind her AW12 collection that now I'm beginning to follow her activities a lot.

Imagine waking up on Sunday and you feel lazy. You take a shower, towel dry your hair and sit in your PJs, fresh faced and tired. A group of friends call you out for a free lunch in a posh cafe and you're dying to go, but can't be asked to do your hair or choose an outfit because it's Sunday and you'd rather be at home drinking hot chocolate.

So in that case, why do we HAVE to do our hair, wear makeup, or even choose an outfit?

Ikumi designed a whole wardrobe of pajama/casual/homewear fusion garments with an exceptional selection of materials. I'm no expert in fashion, but I see the loose silhouettes and it makes me want to BELIEVE in comfort and the fact that we can be stylist and be in utmost comfort. She designs them in a way that still makes her outfits edgy and wearable on the streets, but the people who turn back to look at you will be admiring the excellence of your attire rather than laughing at you because you look like you're still in your PJs.

She opted for flat shoes and fur boots, long cardigans in various pastel toothpaste colours, the craziest pants which look too comfy to even be pants, and cotton blazers with hoods. Not to mention the little details she adds in like her monster drawings printed as a motif onto the lining fabric.

Have a look at the AW12 collection:

I ADORE how the models were styled, with their towel dried hair bronze eye shadows and neutral lips. It's like a model-off-duty look which I'm completely enthralled with at the moment.

Even the catwalk is made of white carpet. The models must have LOVED walking on that and strutting their stuff without the thought of falling over, which portrays more confidence in themselves and I think the positive vibe reflects onto the garments. Overall it was a very well crafted show. The music is sensational as well.

If anyone knows the ending track with the twinkling bit, please let me know via comment!

Edit: FOUND!

If I could pick one thing, it would be this jacket with the monster illustration lining

The Ragged Priest + Remix I made last month

Before I start, a little update about life..
I FINALLY SETTLED ON A HOUSE FOR NEXT YEAR!

the place is massive, with 2 floors, and spacious kitchen and long balcony
i'm sharing with 2 friends, I've already started fantasising about how I'm going to decorate it, how to position the furniture and how I'm going to have massive sleepover parties.

Because my room can potentially hold like 5/6 people sdjhsdhsghsagh

but anyway

this is actually a continuation from my previous Topshop post

After hours of controlling my hunger I still found myself downstairs not for the shoe section but actually for EAT so I could grab a sandwich, but along the way it was hard not to set your eyes on the 3 racks that were taken up by The Ragged Priest~ so many studs and tie dyes everywhere. To be honest, this brand was never my thing, as in, I can't see myself wearing it nor can I see myself buying it. The idea was a bit superficial, no exciting core concept, the 'handmade' thing is interesting but the quality isn't to die for. But I don't know I still sort of like it, afterall it's a successful brand :)

So being the pauper I am, I just took in a million pieces to the changing rooms to sneak pictures HOHO

I really like this top, even though it was a bit see through.. I might make it or something haha

the quality of this top is so bad ;A; but the design is nice.. however I didn't like any of the punk metal bands on them though..

LOOOOVE this so much, it's so warm and pretty, really considered buying it, but it was £50 ;~~;

some weird medieval tunic thing that looked so ugly on me but I tried it anyway :)

I just googled The Ragged Priest's summer look, not sure what I feel about all the pastels and cliche dreamy looks (I hate the wigs) but if it's something you're into, check out their website :)

On to music!

Around a month ago I made a jazzhop (not really lol) remix using some tracks from some of my favourite artists. It's old news now, but I don't think I ever blogged about it... Anyways, here is the final work and also the original tracks I used :)

Originals:

Consider My Love - Kenichiro Nishihara (ft Pismo)

Kondor - Tribute to Nujabes

Alva Noto - Uni Rec

Alva Noto + Ryuichi Sakamoto - Trioon I

Right now I'm working on a dream pop instrumental (which was actually supposed to be a remix of Twin Sister's 'I Want A House', but I cba isolate the vocals or cover it with my own voice haha)

I'm got a great intro sorted out already, but the body is taking me so long because I had planned to use a lot of tracks by Toro Y Moi (Lissoms and Blessa to be precise) AND instrumentals by Gil Scott-Heron & Jamie Xx, but my intro has a bass riff and drone in a different key which I want to keep. I've tried so many things and I still don't know what to do, but hopefully something will work pretty soon. In the morning I actually remembered a Kuramoto piano track that might work.. haven't tried it yet but I'm lazy and I was watching Up..

But when I get it done and get it reviewed I will obviously post it here :)

ciao xx

[Outfit post!] Retail therapy, musicccccc

I've finished exams!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 12 hours of maths alllll done <3

So so so happy XD this past week I've been living it like a typical 1st year.. and surprisingly I do not remember ever buying myself a drink lol but let's not talk about that..

On Friday my neighbour and I decided to go do some shopping as some pre stress relief, because we know that house hunting, bank internships, driving lessons, sorting out holidays and 2nd year prep work are all next on the list of things to mentally kill us. Ironically we both had house viewings on the day so we ended up meeting each other late when the rain started and it ended pretty miserably with us both getting strong coffees and crying over our fails~

But I decided to stay in central a bit longer to see what high street had to offer. To my surprise TOPSHOP actually had some really nice things here and there. I ended up getting leather shorts because I kinda needed party shorts, but I hoarded loads of clothes into the changing rooms to take sneaky pics :D

this is my own outfit :)

the leather shorts I bought and a lovely seethrough top I found. I loved the style only problem was that it kinda felt like paper D:

excuse my bra, but look at the pretty detail!

the ying-and-yang leggings everyone on tumblr has lol

I ended up buying this yellow top even though when I first saw it I hated it haha.. but I really needed a party outfit so yeah

oh and this was in Drop Dead~ their walls were EPIC!!!
that blue top with the eye was only £15, but I didn't buy it because I don't think I'll ever wear it without that jacket.. (which was £60 and I'm poor because I eat too much)

I also bought a new lipstick called 'Devil' from the Makeup Store on Carnaby Street!
You might think なんかゼイタクでしょう?but omg can I just say the only lipstick I call my own is my Mac 'So Chaud'. I have another orange one from Boots which was like £3 and another one from a 99p store which is shit. SO I'M REALLY THRIFTY OKAY??

My mum says I look like a punk with my studded leggings and red lipstick, but oh well, at least it's not my dad lol *asian parents*~~~~ I had to tell her that I'm only 19 once (YAWLAW) and besides, when I get a job in JP Morgan or something I'll have to wear work clothes everyday and won't ever have the chance again, which is quite sad tbh..

Time for some music I think! Here are a selection of things on my Recently Played (i'm been playing these everyday for a longggg time now love them so much ;~~~;):

后海大鲨鱼 (Queen Sea Big Shark) - Man On The Moon

Sea Oleena - Untitled

I can't remember if I've shown you guys 'Island Cottage' but omggggg LISTEN TO IT NOW OR REGRET FOR LIFE

Lianne La Havas ft. Willy Mason - No Room For Doubt
she is so so so cute and this song is too epic not to post ;~~; in fact I like the version she did by herself more than the duet version, but both gorgeous of course :)

Beach House - Equal Mind
it's perfectttttttttttttttttt

Cass McCombs - County Line
have I posted this already???? oh well LISTEN AGAIN

Bugseed - Tear Loose

I only found out about Bugseed really recently, and loved him instantly because he sounds a bit like my love Nujabes and almost exactly the same as my Japanese jazzhop obsession, 'Green Butter (Budamunk)'

法蓝 (Fran) - 打雷了 (It's thunder)
don't listen to Fran that much, but this song is amazing

Back with more random things later! (omg gotta do the Korean and Japanese playlists like I promised...)

Outfit post! See through clothes, Leggings and Japanese brands

Hey guys I'm back with another picture heavy outfit post! Nothing unusual, just what I've been wearing lately :)

So this was what I was wearing when I decided to stroll into Topshop a week ago~
Shirt: Beyond Retro
Vest: The Rag Factory fair
Shorts: New Look
Tights: Primark
Shoes: Beyond Retro

I picked up this black see-through dress to try on. The material's so difficult to work with, it has no waist tailoring at all, and even if you put a belt around it, it's so plastic and wiry that it just looks like this:
So basically it makes you look 2 sizes bigger D: other than that I absolutely loved it <3
It kinda reminded me of something I saw on Weibo:
even though the white one she's wearing is so much cuter <3
for obvious reasons I didn't get it in the end because the waist area was such an awkward shape :/

the skirt bit was quite pretty though

errr, it took me ages to decide whether I should flash my underwear here, but it's fashion so it's okay hehe :) but I had to hide my face because i'm a good Asian girl :D
and sorry i have weird body proportions
 BUT
this see through lilac vest was so delishh, I didn't buy it because at that time I thought it was too see-through.. and really quite tight around the waist, but now I'm thinking it might look good with like a dark bodysuit underneath :( plus it was on sale too... sighhh
pretty shimmery material!

Actually quite a lot of see through things have caught my eye recently, like skirts, dresses, tops etc~

really pretty right?
I actually just bought a see through black maxi skirt with opaque black shorts underneath, a bit like this:

but the chiffon material is a lot more see-through. It was so cheap, like £4 I think. Will wear it when the damn London weather gets hotter and take pictures then! To be honest I don't even know how to wear it right now. Some friends tell me to were it with my Jeffrey Campbell Litas and others tell me with converses.. :S

Anyways, on Topshop day I also went into UNIQLO to find nothing special but I did see Kuroki Meisa on the wall so I took a picture :)

damn you Akanishi Jin, I thought I was gonna get married to her

And popped into H&M... guess what I saw???????

my pretty chinese baby Luhan sporting it *wink wink*

Several days ago I also purchased 2 pairs of leggings online, in velvet and a nice skull print~ pics below!

Please excuse my pigsty of a room! It's my uni dorm room :)

I got these wine red leggings on ebay. My obsession with velvet things has been going wild recently, I have a lot of things in velvet, just not leggings! So I got these, after debating whether I should get navy/royal blue or wine red for months.. Now I sorta want dark purple ones too.. D:

urgh, i just want hips

they're a really weird nice colour!!!

And does this galaxy x skull pattern look familiar? Seen it before somewhere?? *wink wink*

lol it's the kitty me again

derpina

I wanted wavy hair but it came out curly D:

Familiar?
Well it's kungfu panda Tao baby~~ <3

Tao is MY baby, no touchy

I didn't know what brand it was until I checked the label and it said 'Virgin Blak'
It was £10 on ebay, a bit expensive but I'm a fangirl I loved the design! (Actually, I do like the design :D)
Here's their website: http://www.virginblak.com/
They have some okay prints I guess!

Also pretty recently, I've been getting really hyped up about several weird DIY Japanese brands, one of which I thought I'd mention here~ It's very very very Osakan, mori and overall adorbs~

Ahcahcum-Muchacha あちゃちゅむ←→ムチャチャ
http://www.ahcahcum-muchacha.com/

I don't know why they spelled it 'ahcahcum' when the Japanese says 'achachum' but oh well :)

The admins update this site pretty regularly, and seriously, check it out. Everything in the site is pretty weird in a good way.. It's like a vintage/played down version of Kyary Pamyu Pamyu

It is largely influenced by domestic cats..
I think when I become an old spinster with 60 cats I'll definitely buy the whole shop :)
Oh and live in this house which I found in the Cotwolds:

Yeah.

Anyways, I discovered this brand on Weibo when I saw someone with the cutest cat bag ever, and had to do some intense research to find out where it was from. No sign of any acknowledgement from the West though, even though the whole of East Asia seems to know this brand.

this girl, omg she's all over the internet! i think she goes by the name yuri41, but not too sure

The bag's not on the website anymore, but apparently some still sell it on Amazon.jp~ I searched for agggeeessss, I even went on their official facebook and asked them in Japanese, but noopppee no reply or any idea how I can get my hands on them unless I go to Japan this summer and stalk this shit down

anyways, long ass post, gotta go sleep work! ciao readers xx
