suits with shorts?

here's my outfit yesterday..

Denim sleeveless shirt: Beyond Retro

Jacket: Uniqlo

Shorts: Superdry

Shoes: The Rag Factory vintage sale

Simple outfit, which I quite liked when I was wearing it, but now I look back, I don't think the shorts match very well.. kinda reminds me of those news presenters presenting in the heat, when they wear suits but with shorts.. 

It would have looked a bit better if I wore pants with heeled boots.

But look at Alexander Wang rocking it..
